Introduction to Prophetic Medicine & Islamic Healthy Lifestyle

It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle as our body impacts our abilities to fulfill our duties as Muslims. A common picture, seen in both men and women, is overweight individuals. They pray on chairs because their knees canโ€™t withstand the weight.

Prophet Muhammad said: โ€œWhosoever begins the day feeling family security and good health; and possessing provision for his day is as though he possessed the whole world.โ€ (Tirmidhi 551).

โ€œA believer who is strong (and healthy) is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer, but there is goodness in both of themโ€ฆโ€ (Bulugh al Maram).

In this video, youโ€™ll enjoy watching Dr. Mujeeb Hoosen lecturing about Prophetic medicine and the Islamic healthy lifestyle. He also talks about personal hygiene which forms a basic core in Islamic Shariโ€™ah.

Dr. Hoosen is a lecturer of Unani-Tibb at the School of Natural Medicine at University of the Western Cape in South Africa.
