9 Hadiths on Men-Women Interaction in Mosque

2. `Abdul Rahman reported on the authority of Malik from Nafi` from Ibn `Umar that he said, โ€œThey (male and female Companions) would perform ablution togetherโ€.

`Abdul Rahman said, I asked Malik, โ€œ(You mean) men and women?โ€

He replied, โ€œYesโ€.

I further asked, โ€œ(Was it) during the lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ he affirmed.[2]

3. Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the following incident:

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand on a tree trunk when her delivered his sermons. So, a woman from the Ansar said to him,

โ€œO Messenger of Allah! I have a slave carpenter, shall I get him construct a pulpit for you?โ€

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) responded, โ€œYesโ€.

So, the Prophet started using the pulpit, and one Friday, while he was delivering a sermon standing on it, the tree trunk issued a groaning sound like that of a child. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commented, โ€œIndeed, this (trunk) wept due to what it missed of Dhikr?โ€[3]

4. Lady `Aโ€™ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said,

โ€œHow good the women of Al-Ansar are! Their bashfulness did not stop them from inquiring about religion and acquiring understanding of itโ€.[4]

5. `Abdullah ibn Mas`ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:

(Once) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the Mosque accompanied by some women of Al-Ansar; he admonished and exhorted them, and said, โ€œAnyone of you loses three children will surely enter Paradiseโ€œ.

A woman โ€“ who was one of the most venerated among them โ€“ stood up and said, โ€œO Messenger of Allah, and (what about) the woman who loses two (children)?โ€

The Prophet said, โ€œAnd the woman who loses two (children shall enter Paradise too)โ€.[5]
