Can a Daughter Perform Hajj on Behalf of Her Dead Mother? (Video)

04 July, 2022
Q Is it permissible for a daughter to perform hajj on behalf of her dead mother?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

In this fatwa:

  • When it comes to performing Hajj on behalf of the one that has passed away, any believer who has fulfilled their own obligation of Hajj can perform Hajj on behalf of another believer that has passed away.
  • This condition is not limited to parents alone and whether they have done their Hajj or not. If your parents performed Hajj before passing away you can still perform a Hajj on their behalf. The condition is that you fulfill your own obligatory Hajj first.
