Liverpool Mosque Wins 2021 Award for Community Outreach

A local mosque in Liverpool has received a prestigious award for community outreach during 2021, in recognition of their efforts to invite members of the community into the mosque for programs and activities.

Liverpool’s Al-Rahma Mosque in Toxteth has been given the award for ‘Best Outreach Service’ in the British Beacon Mosque Award.

“It is an honor for Al-Rahma Mosque, Liverpool Muslim Society, and the people of Liverpool to receive such a prestigious award,” a spokesperson for the mosque told the ECHO.

Praise

Judges usually consider community work such as mosque Ramadan iftars, homeless and elderly support, blood donations, school visits, etc.

One school said: “Thank you for the warm welcome we received yesterday from yourself and our gracious guide, but also everyone at the Mosque.

“Our pupils were made to feel welcome and relaxed in an unfamiliar setting, which is very rare, and much appreciated.”

Al-Rahma Mosque is not the only winner in Beacon Mosque Awards 2021.

Easton Jamia Mosque received the ‘Best Green Initiative’ award at the fourth British Beacon Mosque Awards Ceremony, which seeks to showcase positive work within towns and cities across the UK.

The Lantern Academy, an Islamic madrassah in Greater Manchester, received the Best Youth Service award at the 2021 British Beacon Mosque Awards in recognition of its work with young people.
