ICNA-MAS Conventions Opens in Washington, DC

The 44th Annual ICNA-MAS Convention 2019, one of the largest and most diverse Islamic conventions in North America, is set to open this Easter weekend, April 19-21, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.

“With renowned speakers, amazing sessions and an incredible bazaar, the Easter weekend event provides thousands with unforgettable memories,” the Islamic Council of North America (ICNA) wrote on Facebook.

“The theme for 2019 national convention is Healing Humanity: Lessons from Islam.”

Last year’s convention attracted roughly 22,000 attendees and offered more than 150 speakers giving presentations in more than 130 sessions.

Attendees have the opportunity to network and socialize with friends and new acquaintances.

The convention will feature a bazaar, a Qur’an recitation contest, children’s activities, and dawah workshops as well as talks by Islamic scholars and imams from across the United States.

The majority of attendees will be Muslim Americans, organizers say, but all activities are open to the public.

Speakers include Sheikh Yasir Qadhi, Sheikh Omar Suleiman, Javaid Siddiqi, Sh. Waleed Basyouni, American Muslim activist Linda Sarsour, Imam Shabir Ally and a galaxy of Muslim figures.

The conference brings together many of the most talented black American Muslim intellectuals, leaders, thinkers, culture creators, entrepreneurs, and other members of the broader community.

ICNA is one of the largest, non-profit, grassroots Muslim organizations in North America with many projects, programs, and activities designed to help in reforming society at large.

Since 1968, ICNA has worked to build relations between communities by devoting itself to education, outreach, social services, and relief efforts.
