I Always Feel Impure; How to Combat My OCD?

06 November, 2019
Q I have been severely suffering from waswasa for so many years in different forms. I recently acquired the feeling that whenever I use the washroom, urine or any other impurity is touching all over my body like my hair, hands and other parts. I keep washing everything. I am not able to differentiate between waswasa and the actual impurity. I feel like I'm sinning by being impure.

Consequently, I feel like I am spreading this impurity everywhere. This gives me severe anxiety to the extent I am not able to sleep or function properly. I also feel that I'm always urinating in my underwear or passing stools and feel impure all the time.

Throughout the day I feel like there is impurity all over me. I also have the fear of breaking wudu where I constantly feel like I am passing gas. All these OCDs are making my life miserable and is making everyday a living hell for me. I have lost the will to live. Shaithan is putting thoughts of leaving the religion in my head.

I am ashamed to discuss this with a family member for fear of being mocked. Please help me out.

Answer

In this counseling answer, you will learn:

Make yourself busy with worshipping and remembering Allah.

Ignore the whispers and just do what you were about to do – Satan is trying to get you away from Islam.

Remember that Allah knows your intention, that you purified yourself.
