How Can I Feel Safe and Heal from Trauma?

Q How can I feel secure when I'm constantly judged by people? Is there a better way to heal from trauma? My past experiences with domestic violence make me feel unworthy and somehow weak and sick. Am I having too many expectations? It's hard to feel normal. Please can you help me gain insight and more wisdom on this matter?

Answer

If you have suffered from domestic violence, alhamdulillah, you have been able to get out of the situation.

That is something to be proud of; now you can start your healing journey.

Find a therapist or counselor.

Know that at the beginning it can be hard, as you will have to talk about painful memories, but you will become stronger and stronger with time and come to terms with your past.
