“Surely this Quran guides to what is most upright, and gives good news to the believers—who do good—that they will have a mighty reward.” (Qur’an 17:9)
Admiring how Palestinians held onto Islam so much no matter how much they suffer, American TikTok influencer and writer Megan Rice has converted to Islam after reading the holy Qur’an.
Her journey to Islam started when she created a World Religion book club to read the Holy Qur’an in light of the ongoing genocide of Gaza.
The activist explained the purpose of the club was to combat Islamophobia, racism and understand the significance behind why Palestinian people hold the Quran and its teachings so close to them.

She started hosting lives reading the Qur’an in the club that drew more than 5000 members.
Reading the Qur’an, Rice spoke about her deep admiration for its profound meanings and the miraculous nature she found in its words.
She mentioned being moved to tears when reading certain verses for the first time, underscoring the impact the Islamic holy book had on her.
Taking the Shahada
Last Friday, Rice uploaded a video announcing she had converted to Islam after a viral video showed her taking the Shahada.
The announcement has been widely welcomed among Muslims, in addition to people of other faiths who said they plan to start reading the Qur’an as well.
