Q Assalamu alaikkum, I have a question? Is it permissible to exercise during fasting?

Answer

Short Answer:

  • As a principle, it is permissible to exercise while fasting during the day of Ramadan while the individual is observing the fasting. So long as the person is able to fast and perform the 5 daily prayers in a healthy way.
  • We need to observe all the health measures while exercising during fasting.
  • However, it becomes impermissible if this is going to lead to the inability to observe the fasting or to perform the 5 daily prayers

However, it becomes impermissible if this is going to lead to the inability to observe the fasting or to perform the 5 daily prayers.

So, with this, it is clear that in principle it is permissible to exercise while fasting and definitely we need to observe all the health measures while exercising during fasting.
