New Hijri Year: A Path Towards Renewing Your Life

Prophet Noah: Relentless Dawah

How would you feel if you were, like Prophet Noah, subjected to all forms of insults, mockery, constant jeering and ridiculing just for 365, days, not a whole 950 years (through which Noah had to bear the pains)?

{He (Noah) said, ‘My Lord, I have called my people night and day, but the more I call them, the further they run away.

Every time I call them, so that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their garments, persist in their rejection, and grow more insolent and arrogant.

I have tried calling them openly.

I have tried preaching to them in public and speaking to them in private.} (Noah 71:5-9)

Abraham: Let Down by Family

Or how would you feel if you were condemned to banishment, not by anybody, but by your father, just because you gently admonished him to forsake idolatry and give his life to his true Mighty Lord (as did Prophet Abraham with his father)?

{And mention in the Book ˹O Prophet, the story of˺ Abraham. He was surely a man of truth and a prophet.

˹Remember˺ when he said to his father, “O dear father! Why do you worship what can neither hear nor see, nor benefit you at all?

O dear father! I have certainly received some knowledge which you have not received, so follow me and I will guide you to the Straight Path.

O dear father! Do not worship Satan. Surely Satan is ever rebellious against the Most Compassionate.

O dear father! I truly fear that you will be touched by a torment from the Most Compassionate, and become Satan’s companion ˹in Hell˺.”

He threatened, “How dare you reject my idols, O  Abraham! If you do not desist, I will certainly stone you ˹to death˺. So be gone from me for a long time!”} (Ibrahim 19:41-46)

 Prophet Jacob: Agony of Loss

What about the agony and pains suffered by Jacob at the hands of his own kids. How would you behave if you were in his shoes?

{He turned away from them (his children), saying, ‘Alas for Joseph!’ His eyes went white with grief and he was filled with sorrow.

They said, ‘By God! You will ruin your health if you do not stop thinking of Joseph, or even die.’

He said, ‘I plead my grief and sorrow before God. I have knowledge from God that you do not have.

My sons, go and seek news of Joseph and his brother and do not despair of God’s mercy- only disbelievers despair of God’s mercy.’} (Yusuf 12:84-87)
