Messages of condolences have been pouring in, mourning the passing of Br. Tarek Ezzat, former director of AboutIslam.net, eulogising the man who dedicated his life to Islamic faith, leaving inspiring legacy behind.
Here we share with you some of the messages we have received so far
Dr. Jasser Auda
“The Muslim Ummah lost a great deal of its strategic assets by losing my dear brother Ustaz Tarek Ezzat. He was – Allah bless his soul – a staunch defender of the Ummah’s right to be aware and be educated. And this is one of the major crises that we have today as an Ummah, the crisis of wide spread ignorance and lack of awareness.
“Yet, in his relentless efforts -which he consistently carried out against all odds and throughout his blessed life- Brother Tarek faced the ailments of his body with a glowing smile, beautiful patience and a deep sense of relying on Allah. Sincere condolences to his family, friends and to our beloved Muslim Ummah.”
Fadel Soliman
“Tareq Ezzat is by far the purest soul I’ve ever met… His biggest concern was bringing the right information about Islam in a spiritual way to the non Arabic speaking community, Muslims or non Muslims. Every time he heard a talk of mine that he liked, he would send it’s link to me and ask me to do it again but in English.
“For his pure soul I will dedicate-inshaAllah- my explanation of the Quran, is being translated at the moment. May Allah shower his soul with mercy and turn any misdeeds into good deed and multiply them in his records.”
Nichola Taylor
Life’s too short and that was shown today when an old colleague of mine sadly passed away. This person was very passionate about the work he did in Dawah and he really tried to help people as much as possible.
He always asked about Trudi when she was so ill. He always asked about me and my family and followed up with me when he could.
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. May Allah forgive him and have mercy on his soul. May Allah accept every single good deed he has done in his life. May Allah grant him the very highest in Paradise. Ameen.
