JEDDAH – A video showing a Muslim expat collapsing while praying in a mosque in Al Deilemi, a small village located in the kingdom’s Bisha governorate, has gone viral on the internet, with many praying for the deceased.

Speaking to the local news site, Mohamad Shaalan Al Aklabi, a resident of the region, confirmed the tragic news and announced that the deceased was a Pakistani expat named Abed, StepFeed reported citing Saudi paper Sabq.

The man had lived in the kingdom for 23 years and worked as an electrician. Local officials are now in contact with his family and are set to arrange for his funeral.

The man, who can be seen wearing what appears to be a dark-colored abaya, collapsed soon after he stood from a kneeling position. Men seated next to him can be seen rushing to his aid.

The short clip shocked hundreds on social media.

A year ago, a Saudi university professor passed away a few seconds after concluding Asr prayer in his mosque in Makkah.

Last July, Syrian Mu’adhin Abdul Haq al Halabi passed away while waiting to call the adhan for Fajr prayer at a Jeddah mosque.

Al Halabi, 60, was sitting reciting the Qur’an and passed away with just minutes left before the time of Adhan.
