A Halal Food Festival is set to take place next Sunday, May 7, at Ewood Park, the home of Blackburn Rovers FC.

The event, held on the weekend of the King’s coronation, will run in conjunction with an Asian Wedding Expo which will showcase the location as a special events venue, Lancashire Telegraph reported.
The event, supported by MyKitchenBakery by Hasina Bangi and Bangor Street Community Centre, will see the donation of 100 per cent of ticket sales to charity.

Bringing some of the best Asian, British and African cuisines, the event will also include a variety of fun activities for the children hosted by the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust team.
Nasheed artist and Qawwali performer Abdullah will also be making an appearance.
The concept of halal, — meaning permissible in Arabic — has traditionally applied to food.
Muslims should only eat meat from livestock slaughtered by a sharp knife from their necks. The name of Allah, the Arabic word for God, must be mentioned.
Blackburn now has more halal eateries than any other town or city in the North West. It comes only second to Manchester for the range of restaurants and dessert parlors on offer.
The halal festival in Blackburn is not the only one around the world.
The London Halal Food Festival (LHFF) usually takes place in September every year, attracting thousands of foodies.
