Have you ever wondered how your city or country would look like without immigrants?
People from cities across the United States tried to find out by organizing a #daywithoutimmigrants. Immigrants wanted to make a statement by shutting down their businesses, staying away from work and school, and by refusing to spend money. Through those actions they want to highlight their impact on the economy and culture in the United States.
The strike/boycott is part of a growing movement against president Donald Trump’s immigration policy. The movement started after Donald Trump gave the executive order on the travel ban from 7 muslim-majority countries. Not only are they protesting against the ban, but also against his plans of building a wall on the Mexican border to keep immigrants out.

Our nation is stronger because of the generations of immigrants who came here. I stand with those participating in a #DayWithoutImmigrants.

Shoutout to the people who came here with empty pockets and dreams, and worked their asses off to make a living. #DayWithoutImmigrants
