Muslim Restaurant Feeds Homeless People in D.C. Everyday

Sakina Halal Grill, a  Pakistani restaurant in Washington D.C.  feeds homeless and poor people every single day as if they were full paying customers. The restaurant is located  just blocks from the White House.

“If someone says, ‘I need a free meal,’ I say ‘OK,’”  Kazi Mannan, owner of  the restaurant told ABC7.

“I’m Trying to worship our Creator through food” he added.

Mannan never dismisses anyone. In fact, one homeless man has been coming to Sakina Halal Grill twice a day for the last four years.

His policy has remained the same for the last five years. If you’re hungry, poor or homeless, you can eat for free.

Last year, according to ABC7, the restaurant gave away 16,000 free meals.
