Is it permissible for a non-Muslim man to convert to Islam to marry the Muslim woman who loves?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
In this fatwa:
- It is possible for someone to love a Muslim and get to know about Islam because of this person and then accept Islam.
- People arrive to Islam through many different channels and love can be one of them.
- We see this in the story of Umm Sulaym bint Milhan when she told Abu Talha: “You are the best man but you are a disbeliever and I am a Muslim woman, how can I marry you?”
