Q
I work in a coffee shop that offer bacon sandwiches and I have to make these sandwiches and serve them to customers, is that halal?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
In this fatwa:
- If majority of your work deals with making or serving bacon sandwiches, you need to look for another job.
- If the vast majority of your work is halal and 10% to 5% or less deals with making bacon sandwiches, it is highly recommended that you don’t work here.
- You are highly recommended to increase your charity and purify your income.
