Q Is there any dua reported from Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that I can say after burping?

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. 

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

In this fatwa:

  1. It is not from the sunnah to burp out loud purposefully. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said the one who eats onions and garlic should not join the congregational prayer. This was because of the bad odour from eating them.
  2. There is no dua that you should say after for burping in our tradition rather the focus is on not having a smelly breath and on burping out loud and causing discomfort to those around especially so during prayer.
