There was a second migration to Abyssinia. Uthman ibn Affan was part of the second migration and Abu Bakr was about to go, however, he was stopped by Ibn ad-Daghina who offered him protection if he didn’t go but the condition was that he was not allowed to pray in front of the Kabaah. He agreed and he made a room in his own house a place to pray. He was then told to stop praying altogether or give up the protection. So he gave up the protection and lived under Allah’s protection only.
