“I am honored to be the ambassador for Islamophobia Awareness Month 2023,” said Moeen Munir Ali OBE IAM Ambassador 2023, IAM website reported.
“I am a passionate and dedicated advocate for inclusivity, understanding, and the eradication of Islamophobia from society. Take part in the conversation, be part of the solution.”
Events held across the month will help break down barriers and challenge incorrect stereotypes people may hold, as well as provide an avenue for people of other backgrounds to engage with Muslims.
IAM also highlights why it is crucial for Muslims to report Islamophobic hate crimes to authorities, for accurate data to be collected, and for policy changes to be enacted accordingly.
