Ridwana Wallace-Laher, the CEO of the British Muslim Charity Penny Appeal, has received the prestigious CEO of the Year award at the first British Asian Professional Awards.
Wallace-Laher took home the top prize at the first year of the new awards ceremony held in Birmingham on September 1, Wakefield Express reported.

“I am deeply honored to receive the CEO of the Year award at the 2023 British Asian Professional Awards,” she said.

The British Asian Professional Awards, organized by Oceanic Consulting, recognized the contributions of British Asian professionals who play a vital role in the British community.
Wallace-Laher made history earlier this year after becoming the first Muslim woman appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of an international Muslim charity.
With over 20 years of experience in education and charity leadership, she has driven organizational growth and diversification, promoting innovation, collaboration, and digital transformation.
