Islamic Relief USA hosted a food giveaway in Baltimore on Saturday, April 17, in observance of Ramadan, the holy fasting month.
Volunteers delivered 168 boxes of food to families, benefiting as many as 840 people.
The event comes amid reports of increasing food insecurity during the pandemic with as many as 26 million Americans report a shortage of food each week, CBC Local reported.
Islamic Relief Worldwide was established in 1984 in response to the famine in Africa.
