In the previous episode, Sheikh Kutty discussed the maxim, “custom is arbiter”, the 5th and last of the Islamic Grand Legal maxims (Al-Qawa`id Al-Kubra).

In this video, Sheikh Kutty sheds more light on this maxim, giving examples of it application and pointing out some of its limitations. In addition, Sheikh Kutty explains some subsidiary maxims related to custom.
