You have embraced Islam, and now you are thinking about how to behave in family situations in the new setting. How can you deal with them and build bridges instead of creating distance between you and them?
First, avoid information overload, especially about the dos and don’ts. Remember, you are the one who accepted Islam, not them, so try not to push Islam on them.
Once they have a question, a short, nice story or a brief explanation can be more effective than a 30-minute lecture.
Try to focus on talking about what makes you feel better than on what and why they do wrong.
