Naming the school after his late parents

Nigeria’s Muslim Striker Opens State-of-Art School for the Poor

Known for his philanthropic gestures, Super Eagles Muslim star Ahmed Musa has inaugurated a new school in Jos, offering the poor a state-of-the-art modern educational facility.

“That was the only school I attended when I was growing up. When I heard they wanted to sell it, I decided to buy it, take it down and do what you saw over there,” Musa told Sports Brief.

“I did that to ensure the poor also get to feel the kind of educational system the rich gets. That is why I made sure it is the best school in my community and even the state.”

The 30-year-old forward shared photos on social media, showing the beautiful facility which was named after his late parents.

“All that came to my head was to name it after my parents, because they are late and anywhere they are, they will be proud of me. I’m proud to name it after my parents – Mr Musa and Mrs Sarah! M&S International School… Alhamdulillah,” the Sivasspor of Turkey star wrote on social media.

Inspiration

Musa has always been an inspiration to many young Muslims with his charity works and projects launched to help his people.

The Nigerian superstar started his football career in the streets when he had nothing but a ball and some friends who shared his love and passion for football.

That’s why Musa, while advancing in his career from one team to another, is also making sure to help those in need in his country, either by promoting sports among Nigerians, supporting youth, and donating food items to the needy.

He even started a charity foundation named “Ahmed Musa Foundation” through which he helped those in need.

Earlier in 2022, he donated $1500 to a local mosque in Senegal during Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Also in 2018, Musa set 40 prisoners free by paying their debts.
