Windsor Hosts Islam Awareness Week

WINDSOR – Muslim students at the University of Windsor, Ontario, are hosting Islam Awareness Week to engage their colleagues in healthy conversations about Islam and its teachings.

“Islam Awareness Week is a week dedicated to promoting the teachings and practices of Islam. One could expect to learn about God, the Prophets, Hijab, the Quran, and much more,” Windsor’s Muslim Students Association wrote on their website.

The group hopes to create positive conversations about Islamic ideals and principles on campus.

The events, planned this week, are aimed at creating safe spaces for people to come together and talk about Islam.

On Tuesday, the event hosted therapist Dr. Zain Shamoon for a discussion focusing on mental health and Islam.
