Run by a dedicated staff and an entire team of volunteers, the Muslim charity provides social services across the US to the underprivileged and those affected by natural disasters.
ICNA Relief of Georgia currently offers a food pantry, ESL learning center, health clinic, women’s transitional housing, refugee services, and free backpack giveaways.
One of the beautiful efforts launched by ICNA Relief during COVID-19 was the campaign to feed first responders.
ICNA tents could be seen setup and ready outside of hospitals and police stations. The purpose of this effort is to show appreciation to the first responders for their efforts and service.
Ramadan in Lockdown
ICNA Relief continues to add more services and programs during this difficult time. During the month of Ramadan, ICNA Relief is providing a hot meal drive for suhoor and iftar meals.
They are providing two hundred meals per day, with the intent of feeding one hundred people each day. For every person, a food box is provided for suhoor (pre-dawn meal) and for iftar (sunset meal) at host locations around the city.
“I had the pleasure of driving up to receive my meals from Masjid Momineen during Ramadan. It was nice to see the collaborative effort between ICNA Relief and the mosque,” Laila Towns told AboutIslam.net.
“The food was absolutely delicious and I was so happy that I had a suhoor meal for the next day.”
These collaborative efforts have transformed the lives of so many throughout Georgia and enhanced the opportunities for Muslims to serve their community during a time of challenge. The ICNA team works tirelessly every day to reach thousands of people in need.
