Spread Understanding

DII is a group which aspires to pioneering the dissemination of the correct understanding of Islam to the public through informative media, exhibitions, presentations, workshops and literature.

Their work usually aim to spread a better understanding of Islam among the public whilst eliminating the misconceptions associated with Islam and Muslims in general.

According to the 2016 Pew Research Centre report, Ireland’s Muslim population stands at approximately 70,000.

Other Muslim groups have been working to spread a similar message of understanding.

Earlier this month, Al Rahman mosque in Portlaoise, in the Irish province of Leinster, invited the public of all faiths to visit the mosque in an open day to dispel any misconceptions people may have about the mosque and its members.
