Dzhumaya Mosque is the main religious center for Muslims in Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second-largest city.
The mosque was built in the 14th century CE with a dimension of 40 by 30 meters. Less than a hundred years later, the old building was demolished and a new mosque was erected in its place.
This is known as the oldest cult Ottoman building in the Balkans. Its architecture has been also influenced by Byzantine and Old Bulgarian styles.
