So you are ready to take Shahadah and you want to take the steps. But when can we take the shahadah? Does it have to be in a mosque? Does it have to be in a large gathering? 

We can take the shahadah anywhere. However, you have to ask yourself where is it more befitting? You want to start this journey off on the right foot. You can embrace Islam anywhere, it may not be an appropriate setting but don’t stop the person from doing so because you don’t know when they are going to die. 

The best place to embrace Islam and take the shahadah is the mosque. Allah is remembered in the mosque, people are praying there and the brotherhood and sisterhood are established there. It is very important for you to know your immediate community. You will find that in the mosque.
