What do you think Ibrahim (PBUH) felt like as his own people had kindled a fire for days and days that none of them could go near and was preparing to throw him into that fire? 

It wasn’t just his own people but his own family including his father who he loved so much. He sees complete abandonment and complete humiliation.  The words that he said when he was being thrown into the fire were “Allah is sufficient for us and the best Disposer of our affairs.” When he said this Allah cooled the fire and Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) was not harmed at all. 

Allah protected Prophet Ibrahim and he increased him. Allah does this when any of us call out to Allah and we ask Allah to protect us. When we realise that Allah is sufficient for us we will understand that Allah will never let us down.
