All of us have dirty laundry. These sins are between us and Allah and we should turn and repent to Allah with sincere taubah.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “every single child of Adam is someone who makes mistakes and the best of those who make mistakes, turn back to Allah.”
We have all made mistakes, we are human. Allah has left the door of repentance wide open until the Day of Judgement.
Within our lifetime we have the opportunity to repent back to Allah. Allah told us in the Quran to make tawbah to Allah, which is very pure. The tawbah ends up cleaning everything that was before it.
For many of us, the past ends up haunting us and it holds us back. We feel we can’t return back to Allah. However, Allah tells us when we make taubah, we have fixed the problem. We can repair our relationship with Allah by making taubah.
When we make taubah, we must retract from any sin that we are making taubah from. We must make remorse for the sin that we have committed. We must have a sincere intention that we will never do this sinful act again.
