We have a strong wake up call from Allah. In the Quran, Allah tells us that “corruption has spread on the land and the sea.” Corruption has spread everywhere.

Why has this corruption spread everywhere? Because of what people have earned, because of what people have done.

As a community we have either done it or we have watched as spectators and allowed it to happen.

What does Allah tell us regarding this? He tells us in the Quran: “They may taste some of what they’ve done.” The corruption we see around us is happening so that we can feel the effects of what we have actually resulted in.

The lesson that Allah wants us to learn is “so that they might return.” Return to where? That they might come back to their senses or they might come back to Allah. We were not put on this earth so that we can destroy it.
