Human beings cannot see angels or jinn unless they take a physical shape. Hence, all the information we have concerning these kinds of creatures is based on divine revelation in the Quran or prophetic statements.

 

The following information is based on these sources:

 

1- The jinn were created from fire, while angels were created from light.

 

2- All angels are obedient to Allah and infallible, while the jinn-kind are like human beings; i.e. they include believers and disbelievers, obedient and sinners.

 

3- The jinn, like human beings, eat, drink, and marry; while angles do not.

 

4- Angels take only good shapes, while the jinn may take good or bad shapes.
