There is nothing wrong with studying mechatronics. In fact, Muslims need to have well-qualified cadres in this field to help develop our Muslim nation. You are encouraged to be one of those cadres.

 

Robots have become widely used in a variety of fields and do not have to be in human or animal form. It is prohibited to shape a robot in a human or animal form since this has the same ruling of creating images and shaping statues.

 

The Messenger (peace and blessing be upon him) said, “The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: ‘Breathe life into that which you have created.” (Al-Bukhari) But shaping robots in human forms is not necessary in the multidisciplinary field of mechatronics and you can avoid it.
