In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Mercy-Giving
All praise is due to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon his Messenger.
If you mean after suhur meal but before Fajr [dawn time], then you have done nothing wrong.
In the Qur’an we read:
“Permitted for you on the night of the fast is intimate approach to your wives. They are a garment for you. And you are a garment for them. God knows that [before granting this permission,] you used to betray yourselves. Thus He has granted you repentance [for what is past] and pardoned you. So now you may lie with them and seek whatever [offspring] God has decreed for you. Moreover, you may [now] eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes clear to you, [as distinguished] from the black thread [of night].” (Al-Baqarah 2:187)
But if you had sex with your spouse after dawn, this is an enormous sin that requires sincere repentance to Allah SWT.
In addition, one has to atone for this sin as prescribed in the prophetic tradition. Abu Hurairah reported that a man had an intercourse with his wife while fasting in Ramadan. The man came to seek fatwa from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who said, “Can you afford to emancipate a bond slave?” He said, “No.” The Prophet said, “Are you able to observe fasting for two consecutive months.” He said, “No.” The Prophet said, “Then feed sixty indigent persons.”
The food is to be given out of the most common food in one’s country. If rice, for example, each indigent person should be given about 750 gm. If one does not know how to do that, he may give the total amount to any trusted charitable organization to do it on his behalf.
Allah Almighty knows best.
