killing a animal for no reson

Islam teaches us to be merciful towards all of God’s creation. The Prophet said, “Show mercy to those on earth; if you do, you will receive the mercy of Allah.” ‘One who shows no mercy to God’s creation will not receive the mercy of Allah.”

Islam mandates the faithful not only to refrain from hurting others; instead be engaged in rendering acts of kindness. The Prophet said, “You stand to gain blessings of charity for any and every act of kindness you show towards any of the living beings.”

In light of these, it is indeed a grave sin to kill or cause the death of a bird or any animal except for food or to save the life of humans.

Therefore, you ought to turn to Allah in sincere repentance and commit yourself to render acts of kindness.

Perhaps one of the best ways of expiating for the grave offense you have committed is to contribute to the welfare of animals or volunteer to prevent cruelty to animals.

Almighty Allah knows best.
