Dhikr

Wa `alaykum As-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

I have never come across such a tradition.

We learn from the Qur’an and hadith that Allah answers prayers. However, since He alone is the all-Wise and all-Knowledgeable, He alone knows what is beneficial for us and what is harmful. So, He gives what is best for us, and withholds what is not good for us.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “There is not a Muslim who prays to Allah – unless he asks for something sinful or involving severing blood ties – without Allah granting his request in one of three ways: He grants his wish (if it is good for him); or keeps it for him as a treasure to bestow on him in the next world; or averts some harm (which was decreed for him) because of his or her prayer.”

In other words, Allah answers our prayers, according to His perfect wisdom; for He alone has full knowledge of what is good or bad for us.

So, it behooves us to pray to Allah while trusting His judgment.

Almighty Allah knows best.
