Wa `alaykum As-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

One of the conditions of an act is to be intended and dedicated for solely for the pleasure of Allah according to the hadith reported by Umar bin Al-Khattab which you have quoted.

Moreover, such an act must be in conformity to the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him). This is based on the hadith of Aishah (may Allah be please with her) who reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours which is not part of it will have it rejected.

In another narration he said, “Whoever does an act that is not in accord with our matter will have it rejected.”

What you are doing is not in conformity with the Sunnah of the Prophet who did not greet people by bowing to them. Bowing is restricted to Allah alone in prayer.

Almighty Allah knows best.
