One of the strongest storms to hit the nation made landfall on the evening of Aug. 25, 2017, along the Gulf region—especially pummeling Texas.
Hurricane Harvey has left survivors needing to find elevation and escape to survive; boiling potable water to prevent the spread of disease; left without electricity; and now, left to hunker down and ride the storm out. Strong winds, torrents of rain, tornadoes all intermingled in this massive storm.
Now, although Harvey has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm, its wrath is still dangerous.
Islamic Relief USA’s Disaster Response Team mobilized quickly, moving from helping survivors of Hurricane Matthew in North Carolina to bringing aid to those now affected in Texas. We will post more information as it becomes available. Please donate to IRUSA’s United States Humanitarian Aid fund to support emergency aid efforts.
