Q Can a Muslim wife spend from her own salary on her parents without informing her husband?

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

In this fatwa:

  1. When a Muslim wife earns money, she can do with it whatever she pleases to do. Spending that money to assist parents, to gift parents and to take care of parents is one of the most rewarding things a Muslim woman can do with her money.
  2. As long as a Muslim wife is spending her own salary on halal , she doesn’t need anyone’s permission to spend her own money.
