What is the right way to make intention for fasting?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
In this fatwa:
When you make the intention for fasting in Ramadan, think about it as a way of pleasing Allah the Almighty. Think about the reward of fasting that your sins will be wiped out. The intention to fast should be a source of motivation to perfect your fasting. Think about the intention to fast as way of following the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that in itself something you will be rewarded.
