How to Get My Children to Listen to Me?

18 October, 2023
Q How do you get children to listen? I find myself saying the same things every day, yet no one is listening!

Answer

In this counseling video, you will learn:

You are not alone – all parents go through the same experience at some point of their life.

Teach them to respect the elders in indirect ways – by showing respect to others and drawing their attention to it.

At such moments, have an additional adult who support you.

Let other elders your children respect to talk to them that this behavior is not good.

Reward them when they do listen to you. However, do not do this every single time so they do not learn to expect the praise. Make it in a balanced way.

Decide with your spouse what would be the consequence of your children not listening. Work as a team.
