Short Answer: Yes. If a parallel universe, or even a “multiverse” was scientifically proven, this would be a corroboration of the teachings of the Quran, not a challenge. God calls himself the “Lord of the worlds” throughout the Quran, and this leaves open the possibility of parallel universes within his all-reaching dominion.

Allah the Only Lord of All the “Worlds”, Plural
First of all, it is clearly stated in the Noble Qur’an that Allah is the One and Only Lord of the whole of existence, as it were.
One of the oft-repeated descriptions of God Almighty as given in the Qur’an, which Muslims believe is His word, is that He is the “Lord of the worlds.”
One may note the following verses among others:
“GOD is the Creator of all things, and He alone has the power to determine the fate of all things.” (Qur’an 39:62)
“He is God, the Creator, the Maker who shapes all forms and appearances! His [alone] are the attributes of perfection. All that is in the heavens and on earth extols His limitless glory: for He alone is almighty, truly wise!” (Qur’an 59:24)
“Limitless, then, in His glory is He in whose hand rests the mighty dominion over all things; and unto Him you all will be brought back!” (Qur’an 36:83)
“All praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds.” (Qur’an 1:2)
The Qur’an is emphatic that Allah is the only Creator and Sustainer and Sovereign Law-Giver of the whole of the universe, which includes galaxies, stars, planets, the sun, and the moon.
This also includes whatever exists, whether our scientific investigations have comprehended them or not.
Indeed the “worlds” mentioned in the Qur’an could be seen to indicate a plurality of worlds.
And if parallel universes exist, they, too, are within the dominion of Allah Almighty.
Parallel Universes – Not Scientifically Proven
In fact the very idea of parallel universes originally came from comic books and movies.
A few scientists took interest in the subject based on the unusual findings of quantum physics which contradicted the classical physical laws.
These findings suggested that there is a possibility of other laws operating in the world on a level different from ours.
Their research continues, and some even suggest that other universes exist less than one millimeter away from our universe, on another plane.
Certainly the mathematical laws of quantum physics point to the possibilities of reality envisaged by a few scientists, but no definite proof of their reality has come up as yet.
Ethan Siegel writes about parallel universes or what he calls the “multiverse”:
“The thing is, the Multiverse is not a scientific theory on its own… What is it, then? It may be a new class of topics that we’re coming to understand: the first physically motivated “metaphysics” we’ve ever encountered. For the first time, we’re understanding the limits of our Universe, the information in it and what that means for what we can learn about it. Beyond that? After that? Perhaps that’s truly where metaphysics begins, and perhaps that’s where the Multiverse will forever reside.”
Parallel Universes from the Qur’anic Point of View
Any sincere student of the Qur’an can see that it is positive and emphatic in its support for scientific studies and investigations into the mysteries of our universe, as well as, beyond its borders.
Indeed the existence of a higher dimension of space outlined by the scientists only supports the religious idea of worlds beyond this world.
Such a discovery would be a corroboration of the Qur’anic teachings about the unseen world (the world of the ghayb) and not a refutation of them.
Islam teaches categorically that there is only One God, Allah Almighty.
Submission to God is the Way of all creation, indeed of the whole universe, and that includes all parallel universes if they exist.
Allah can create any number of universes that run on a different set of laws; that is His business.
He is the Sovereign Creator and Ruler, and He can do whatever He pleases.
