Can i become fan of a Non-muslim physicist?

In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Mercy-giving

All praise is due to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon His Prophet Muhammad.

A Muslim may like a non-Muslim for any mundane reason such as for being a relative, a spouse, a good neighbor, a respectable scientists, etc.; but as the same time he/she must hate his religion and belief.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) loved his uncle Abu Tablib and wished he would become Muslim.

In this regard, the Quran says “Indeed, you cannot guide [all] those whom you love [to Islam]. Rather, it is God [alone] who guides whomever He so wills.” (Al-Qasas 28:56)

A Muslim may marry a Jewish or Christian woman and thus love her as his wife.

The Quran says about marital relationship “And of His [wondrous] signs is that He has created for you, from yourselves, mates, so that you may repose in them. And He has set between you genuine [mutual] love and [tenderhearted] mercy.” (Ar-Rum 30:21)

To love one aspect in a person and hate another is not unusual. Even in the Muslim’s relationship with his/her fellow Muslims, one has to love them all for being Muslims, but still has to hate their bad manners, ill conducts, and sinful acts.

Almighty Allah knows best.
