In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Mercy-Giving.
All praise is due to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon His Messenger Muhammad.
Spending more in charity (sadaqah) is not a legitimate reason for a Muslim woman to go to work. It is not even an obligation to give charity. Moreover, the concept of charity in Islam is broader than giving out money. There is a variety of charitable acts in Islam that are considered sadaqah as indicated in a number of prophetic statements.
As an example, one of these statements reads, “On every joint of man, there is a due everyday charity when the sun rises: doing justice between two men is [a form of] charity; assisting a man to ride an animal or to load his luggage on it is [a form of] charity; a kind word is [a form of] charity; every step which one takes towards [the mosque for] Salah is [a form of] charity; and removing harmful things from the way is charity.”
Allah Almighty knows best.
