When a person is a caregiver for a Muslim, is it required for the caregiver to be of the same gender? Is it permissible to have a caregiver from the opposite gender?

In this fatwa:
Having a caregiver from the opposite gender is permissible because of the need for that caregiver whether it is a caregiver for physical or emotional needs.
