He was an ex-Muslim for three years when he was 13-16 years old. Here is his story of why he came back to Islam.

He knew little of Muhammad (PBUH) prior to becoming an atheist. Upon leaving Islam, he learned from ex-Muslims why Muhammad (PBUH) was the worse person to ever have lived. Obviously this is not true and these people have some bias. He noticed this bias quickly due to the horrible arguments they used to disprove Islam.

At 15 he decided he needs to learn more about Islam on his own. He worried that if their arguments were the best arguments then Islam is probably pretty sound.

He believed that Prophet Muhammad was a liar and a conman. However, he found in the Quran that the Quran itself rebuked Muhammad (PBUH) in some areas including chapter 80. This made him pause to think. Eventually he saw some hadiths that did prove that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was not a conman or a liar.
