Can We Hang Quran Verses on the Wall? (Video)

Q I love the Quran and I want to see it everywhere in my house. So, I am wondering if it is permissible to put verses of the Quran on the wall?

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. 

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

In this fatwa:

  1. The Quran was sent as a guidance for mankind. Every time we read or listen to the Quran, we should always be reminded of the guidance that can be extracted from these verses.
  2. It is very common that people have particular verses of the Quran in frames and put them on the wall of their houses, mosques, and offices. This is not impermissible per se. We have to be sure that we are respecting the Quran and  not using it merely just as décor to decorate our walls.
  3. We have to be sure that every time we look at these verses, we should reflect upon them and understand the profound meaning they deliver.
