Dhul-Hijjah 9: Day of Arafah- Best Day of the Year

There is no day better in the sight of Allah than the Day of Arafah. Aishah reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Allah frees far more people from Hellfire on the Day of Arafah than on any other day, and Allah comes closer this day and proudly says to the angels, ‘What do these people want and seek?’” (Muslim)

What to do on the Day of Arafah?

Al-Imam al-Awza`i said “I met people who would stash away their needs until the Day of Arafah so they could ask Allah on for them on that day.”

Al-Imam An-Nawawi said,

“This day is the best day of the year for duaa. It’s befitting that a person tries his utmost to make dhikr, duaa, recite the Quran, supplicate with the numerous supplications, remember God with various forms of dhikr. One should make duaa for himself, his parents, relatives, teachers, peers, friends, loved ones, all those who have done good to him, and all Muslims. Everyone should beware not to short themselves in any of this as this day is not one that can be replaced.” (Al-Adhkar)

In this short video, Imam Joe Bradford explains how to reap the utmost fruits of the Day of Arafah.
